Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Your birth details and the questions you ask are personal. This policy explains what AstraVed (“we”) collects, why, who helps us process it, and how you can control it. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
The short version
- We collect what we need to cast your chart and run your account, nothing more.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your chart and questions are sent to our AI provider only to write your reading.
- No person at AstraVed reads your chats or questions unless you ask us to look at something.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data at any time.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form, so we cannot see them.
- Birth details: name, date, time and place of birth (with its coordinates and time zone), and gender, for you and for anyone whose chart you save.
- What you ask: the questions you submit for reports, your chat messages and our replies, Prashna questions, and matching requests.
- What we generate: computed charts, readings, and PDF reports.
- Purchases: what you bought, when, the amount, and our payment provider’s order, payment and subscription reference numbers. Card, UPI and bank details go directly to the payment provider; we never receive them.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and request logs our servers record automatically, used for security and fixing problems.
Birth details can be sensitive. We ask for them only because a chart cannot be cast without them, and we use them only for that.
2. Why we use it
- To calculate charts and generate the readings, reports and chat answers you request.
- To run your account, process payments, and keep track of credits and plan allowances.
- To email you about your account and purchases, for example receipts and “your report is ready”.
- To keep AstraVed secure, prevent abuse, and fix errors.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We rely on your consent, given when you create an account and enter your details, and on the legitimate uses allowed by law (such as keeping payment records). You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account; this does not affect processing already done.
3. Who processes your data for us
We use a small number of trusted service providers for hosting, sign-in, payments, email and finding your birth place’s coordinates. Your chart, birth details and questions are sent to our AI provider only to write your reading, and it does not use them to train its models.
Some of these providers process data outside India, including in the United States. We transfer data only as permitted under Indian law and only to providers bound by confidentiality and security obligations. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We may disclose data if required by law or a valid order from an Indian authority.
4. Cookies
We use only essential cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.
5. How long we keep it
- Your account data, charts, chats and reports are kept while your account is open.
- Download links in emails expire after 7 days; reports stay available in your dashboard while your account is open.
- When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except payment and invoice records, which we must keep for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period for security, then deleted.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, along with your account;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapacitated.
To delete your data, email contact@astraved.inwith the subject “Delete my data”. We delete your account and all personal data linked to it within 30 days.
For any other request, write to contact@astraved.in from your account email. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact our Grievance Officer (below), and after that you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Other people’s details
If you save a chart for someone else, please make sure they are happy for you to do so. If someone asks us to remove a chart that contains their details, we may do so.
8. Children
AstraVedaccounts are for adults (18+). We do not knowingly create accounts for children. A parent or guardian may save their child’s chart in their own account.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to our systems is restricted, and PDF reports are stored privately and shared only through expiring links. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update the date above when this policy changes, and email you before any significant change takes effect.
